Video: Tommy Ramone in Uncle Monk

Yes, you read that right. These days, Tommy Ramone, the sole surviving original member of legendary punk group The Ramones, has set aside his drumsticks and picked up a mandolin. He’s playing to the tune of bluegrass now, in a duo that has roots in the ’90s, called Uncle Monk. You can see Uncle Monk this Thursday live at Rachael’s Cafe.
Tommy writes in an e-mail that “We are taking a break from recording our upcoming record which should be available early next year. We are doing a tour because we love to play, especially in college towns like Bloomington.”
Incidentally, it’s a very busy calendar day leading into a very busy calendar weekend. Gotta love homecoming…
