A band’s guide to B-town
My Secretly Canadian contact pointed out this entry on the influential Los Angeles music blog, Aquarium Drunkard, in which the Early Day Miners divulge their favorite hot spots around Bloomington and the area, including Soma, Runcible Spoon, Landlocked Music, Russian Recordings and a ton of other cool places in town. (It’s both good and bad, because it gives an insider’s look at the area, but it also gives away some of Hoosier’s best-kept secrets. Ah well; share and share alike — or as the Mad Hatter says, “make room!”) The EDM’s new LP, “The Treatment,” drops next week.
Meanwhile, a local independent collective is gathering artists for a Handmade Market at the Waldron, and their blog can be found here.
On a random note as I blow my nose for the umpteenth time today, for those of you under the weather, I hope the flu, cold or allergies don’t keep you down too long; there’s so much to do outdoors and so much happening in the blogosphere this weekend that I can barely keep up.
