Dubbed "The Female Flight of the Conchords," G&O invade Bloomington on the heels of their #1 Comedy Central album and numerous Tonight Show appearances.
Garfunkel and Oates are the funniest all-girl musical comedy team working today. Unlike some other musical comedy duos, Micucci and Lindhome aren't limited by a concept or shtick -- their funny, catchy songs work as extended jokes on a number of observational topics, ranging from the self-superiority of pregnant women to the lame arguments of same-sex marriage opponents. They start with a clever, original idea for a joke and expand it outward through song.
Quick Garfunkel and Oates Facts:
Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome formed after connecting at L.A.'s Upright Citizens Brigade Theater while both were there separately on what they call "bad dates."
The band is named after two famous pop music "sidekicks," Art Garfunkel (of Simon and Garfunkel) and John Oates (of Hall and Oates).
Micucci had a recurring role on the sitcom Scrubs, while Lindhome has acted in films such as Million Dollar Baby and Last House on the Left.
Garfunkel and Oates have performed on both The Jay Leno Show in 2009 and on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2010.
