Gallery of the Art of the Western World, first floor
This installation features two recent acquisitions by the British Pop artist David Hockney. Both works demonstrate the artist’s interest in exploring new artistic tools. The earlier work reflects his use of numerous color photographs in a cubist-like collage, while the more recent example is an inkjet print drawn using a computer. While their medium differs, both works showcase one of Hockney’s favorite subjects: portraits of those closest to him, in this case his mother and siblings.
