Want believable people in your paintings?
The March 12 BWS meeting will feature Betty Wagoner leading a session on painting gesture and action in the human figure. She will provide photos of people walking, running, leaning and reclining. The group will first do simple sketches observing the skeletal position, center of gravity and direction of the action. Then, members will paint the sketches following the lines and structure of the sketch. If time allows, members will paint quick gestural paintings without sketching. The work produced will be primarily tonal, impressionistic paintings and sketches.
Bring a sketch pencil, a few pieces of watercolor paper and sketch paper, a few colors of paint, brushes and a water container. We will produce primarily tonal, impressionistic paintings and sketches.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the First Christian Church on the corner of Kirkwood and Washington.
The program will start after a brief business meeting. All are welcome.
